I rumors trapelati nella giornata di ieri erano veritieri, l’accordo tra Apple e Shazam è stato concluso e Cupertino ha acquistato definitivamente la piattaforma musicale per 400 milioni di dollari. Una somma sicuramente irrisoria per la società fondata da Steve Jobs nel lontano 1976, anche se gli accordi tra le due società non sono ancora particolarmente chiari.
Tim Cook appare soddisfatto della scelta fatta da parte dell’azienda, Shazam è da sempre classificata tra le applicazioni più popolari all’interno di AppStore per iOS e già da tempo è nata una collaborazione tra il sistema operativo mobile e la piattaforma musicale.
Apple Music e Shazam permettono già di sfruttare le funzionalità incrociate per scoprire il titolo di una canzone ed ascoltarla subito dopo, offrendo agli utenti un’esperienza musicale sicuramente piacevole. La convivenza, però, non si limita soltanto all’app di musica integrata su iOS ma arriva anche all’interno di Siri, l’assistente virtuale sviluppato da Cupertino che grazie ad un “Hey Siri, qual è il titolo di questa canzone?” riesce ad ottenere risposte immediate.
Questa acquisizione potrebbe essere sfruttata da Apple per integrare gli algoritmi presenti su Shazam in intelligenza artificiale, magari riuscendo anche ad ottenere strumenti per il riconoscimento delle immagini.
Maggiori informazioni verranno probabilmente rivelate nelle prossime settimane, immaginiamo inoltre che i primi frutti di questa congiunzione possano essere mostrati già nel 2018.
